The Uhre family has been peacefully operating the Grand Gateway Hotel in Rapid City, South Dakota for more than 45 years, and have employed countless Native American employees during that time. However, since 2022, the goodwill accumulated over the 2-plus generations of Uhre ownership has been strongly challenged after a controversial e-mail was sent by hotel ownership to other hoteliers in Rapid City following a fatal shooting involving Native Americans.

Motivated by the aforementioned e-mail, the radical left opposition sprung into action and launched an all-out campaign to make the Grand Gateway Hotel pay for their mistake, and pay dearly. The management at the Grand Gateway Hotel finally had enough and recently filed a lawsuit alleging forgery, harassment and death threats against NDN Collective, a Native American activist group.
